A contemporary theological movement is spreading among evangelicals today known by many names: Open Theism, Relational Theism, Free Will Theism, Openness Theology, or Neo-Theism. Those who advocate this view believe that God is different in His attributes from what the church has taught for two millennia. Specifically God does not know the future free acts of men. This view of God is not new but has been asserted by heretics throughout the ages. The perspective of God set forth by contemporary open theists is out of accord with Scripture, the fathers of the church, medieval theologians, Reformation theologians, and most contemporary theologians of the church.
